As part of the cultural season for the Department of Electrical Engineering, a workshop titled “Empowering Women in Crisis Management” was held. The workshop was attended by the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Jabbar Khalaf Mohammed, and the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, in Dijla Hall on Monday, April 15, 2024.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Baraa Mohammed Hassan, along with department members Dr. Shaimaa Abdulghani Mohammed, Dr. Salwa Adel Abdelhamid, and Ms. Maissa Abdulhassan Joudi. The workshop covered an introduction to crisis types, how to handle them, and the active role of women in managing and dealing with crises in an optimal manner. Consequently, it emphasized leveraging women’s capabilities, as they represent half of society, to actively contribute to serving state institutions and their departments during crisis stages.
Several faculty members, both male and female, as well as staff and affiliates from the department attended the workshop. They actively engaged with the topics discussed during the workshop, and a discussion session was held at the end of the lecture. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the speakers as a conclusion..
